Enclosed is a wide range of pictures reflecting the busy season at New Milton Bowling Club, from our many leagues games both men and Ladies, the successes of our teams and individuals in the leagues and Club competitions, to touring clubs visiting us, mixed with our active social activities, and our annual week tour. Lots to see and be proud of.
Friendlies
We had 7 friendlies this year from several clubs from the Isle of Wight to Egham. They take part of the visiting clubs annual tour, and a great day is had by all, culminating in drinks and food and laughter post match. The picture shows our last Friendly of the year against Littleton Bowls Club from Evesham.....New Milton won....but great day had by all, making a fitting close to season 2023.
New Milton Bowling Tour 2023 Sidmouth – South Devon
New Milton members enjoyed another wonderful tour organised by Tony and Janet Prince.
We played 5 matches against local clubs Sidmouth, Seaton, Exonia, Madeira (cancelled due to bad weather) and Dorchester.
The hotel was right on the sea front with fabulous morning views. The food was excellent and the rooms comfortable.
During the tour Tim Winter organised a fine system for any misdemeanours during the day. A fine of 50p per offence grew to £411.00 for the Jessie May children's hospice for terminally ill children, a very worthy cause.
The host club members, the coach driver and club coach owner also chipped in, which was much appreciated.
The highest winning rinks each day were presented with a winners medal which had be worn at all times until breakfast the following day and the heaviest losing rink had to wear a losers sash if they didn’t 50p.
It was a wonderful tour and Tony is already working hard for a tour next year to Spain in early October.
